CFE Electrical Testing Solutions
Thorough electrical testing is vital to meeting the safety requirements for a variety of purposes including council regulations, insurance underwriting, and mortgage evaluations. The statutory responsibilities of commercial and domestic property owners cannot be understated.
For landlords there is a statutory responsibility towards their tenants to maintain a safe living environment. Failure to comply with these and other regulations is a criminal offence, so correct electrical safety testing should be a priority. Likewise, for homeowners, correct electrical testing certification can also be required by mortgage and insurance companies.
For commercial premises the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 states that there is a statutory duty for the Responsible Person (usually the manager of the property) to undertake Fire Safety Risk Assessments on an annual basis. These risk assessments include electrical safety risks.
With this in mind, Constant Fire & Electrical are experts in planning, supplying, installing, modifying and maintaining electrical systems for a wide range of situations. Our aim is not only to undertake rigorous testing on your electrical circuits and equipment, but also then provide a comprehensive report detailing the potential hazards and suggested improvements to your installations.
CFE offer extensive Periodic Inspection services of electrical installations within both commercial and domestic properties whether we installed them or not. Our aim is to provide you with a comprehensive report on your current electrical circuits and equipment including:
- Identification of overloaded equipment and circuits
- Potential risks and fire hazards
- Highlighting defective electrical work
The report will indicate whether identified faults require immediate attention and will also suggest upgrades to your current electrical layout.
Our registered electricians can carry out your testing whenever and wherever needed so as to minimise disruption to your business or household.
All testing is carried out in accordance with Guidance Note 3: Inspection and Testing BS7671
Certificate of Inspection
Once our inspection is complete, our electrician will provide you with a certificate of inspection. This gives a clear picture as to the condition of your electrical installation, dated on the day it was carried out. By comparing to previous inspection reports, we will be able to identify any deterioration within your installation and advise on action before a dangerous situation arises.
Regularity of Testing
Typically, periodic electrical testing should be carried out every five years on commercial properties and every ten years on domestic properties. We can hold your records on file and notify you in advance of when you will be required to have your property tested again.
To complement this service we can also offer comprehensive Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) for all of our customers.
